David H. Wang, Ph.D.

David Wang is ACM’s founder and has served as Chief Executive Officer and President and also as a company director since January 1998. Dr. Wang received a Ph.D. and Master of Engineering in Precision Engineering from Osaka University and a Bachelor of Science in Precision Instruments from Tsinghua University. He is the inventor of stress-free Cu polishing technology, and he holds more than 100 patents in semiconductor equipment and process technology. Dr. Wang brings extensive experience in semiconductor equipment, manufacturing processes and markets from his many years of leadership in the industry.

Haiping Dun, Ph.D.

Haiping Dun has served as an ACM director since 2004. Dr. Dun retired as a Senior Director from Intel Corporation in 2004, where he had been employed since 1983. In 2006, Dr. Dun was appointed President of Champion Microelectronic Corp. and has served as a member of the executive board of directors of that company since 2004. Dr. Dun received his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Stanford University, a Master of Science in Physics from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from National Taiwan University. Dr. Dun brings an extensive experience with technology companies, a deep knowledge of ACM, and a strong academic background in physics and materials science.

Chenming C. Hu, Ph.D.

Chenming Hu has served as an ACM director since January 2017. He has also served on ACM’s Board of Advisors since May 2016. Since 1976, Dr. Hu has been a professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Berkeley, where he has been the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Distinguished Chair Professor Emeritus and Professor of the Graduate School since 2010. Dr. Hu also serves on the boards of Ambrella, Inc., a developer of semiconductor processing solutions for video, and Inphi Corporation, a fabless semiconductor company. Dr. Hu is a member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Taiwan’s Academia Sinica. Dr. Hu received his Master of Science degree and Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, and his Bachelor of Science degree from National Taiwan University, all in Electrical Engineering. Dr. Hu brings a deep level of experience in semiconductors and related technologies (including FinFET, which he developed in 1999), his experience as the Chief Technology Officer of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Ltd. from 2001 to 2007, and his current and past directorships at other public companies.

Tracy Liu

Tracy Liu has served as an ACM director since September 2016. Ms. Liu is the founder and owner of H&M Financial Consulting, where she provides international accounting and tax solutions to high-technology companies. Ms. Liu holds a Bachelor of Science from Nankai University and a Master of Accounting and Tax from Golden Gate University. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Ms. Liu brings many years of corporate accounting expertise and has in-depth experience with ACM and its accounting and finance operations.

Charlie Pappis

Charlie Pappis has served as an ACM director since 2025. Charlie Pappis is a semiconductor industry veteran with more than 40 years of leadership experience in global operations, customer engagement, and business growth. He currently serves as President of Pappis Consulting, advising semiconductor equipment and supply chain companies. Previously, he spent more than 30 years at a major global U.S.-based semiconductor equipment company, where he held key executive level leadership roles. Mr. Pappis holds a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and an Executive MBA from Stanford University.

Lip-Bu Tan

Lip-Bu Tan has served on the ACM Advisory Board since January 2017. Since 1987 Mr. Tan has served as Founder and Chairman of Walden International, an international venture capital firm. He has also been President and Chief Executive Officer of Cadence Design Systems, Inc., an electronic design automation software and engineering services company, since January 2009. Mr. Tan currently serves on the boards of directors of Cadence Design Systems, Inc., Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company, an information technology enterprise firm, Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation, a semiconductor manufacturing company, and Quantenna Communications, Inc., a wireless communication designer, developer and manufacturer. Mr. Tan holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Nanyang University in Singapore, a Master of Science in Nuclear Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an M.B.A. from the University of San Francisco.

Stephen Chiao, Ph.D.

Stephen Chiao has served on the ACM Advisory Board since December 2016. Since 2009, he has served as Managing Partner at Sycamore Ventures Inc. Dr. Chiao holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the National Cheng Kung University, a Master of Science from the University of Southern California and a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Stanford University.

Srini Raghavan, Ph.D.

Srini Raghavan has served on the ACM Advisory Board since May 2016. Since 1988 Dr. Raghavan has been a Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Arizona, Tucson. Also at the University of Arizona, Tucson, he has been a Professor of Chemical and Environmental Engineering since 2006 and a Professor of Pharmacy Practice and Science since 2015. Dr. Raghavan was a member of the Visiting Faculty at the Research and Development Lab of Micron Technology in Boise, Idaho, and in 2015 he was a Visiting Professor in the International College of Semiconductor Technology at the National Chiao-Tung University in Hsinchu, Taiwan. In 2014, Dr. Raghavan was an Honorary Professor at the Hebei University of Technology in Tianjin, PRC. Since 2013, he has been a member of the Technical Advisory Board at Product Systems, Inc., specializing in Megasonic Technology for Cleaning and Stripping. Dr. Raghavan received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Madras, a Bachelor of Education degree in Metallurgy from the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, a Master  of Science degree in Materials Science and Mineral Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.

Zheng Xu

Dr. Zheng Xu is an entrepreneur, executive, and investor. He is the founder and CEO of EBOTS Inc, an innovator and manufacturer of intelligent robotics for industrial applications. He was the CEO and co-founder Silevo Inc, a solar cell innovator and photovoltaic (PV) solar module manufacturer. In 2014 Silevo was successfully acquired by SolarCity, a Tesla Company. Dr. Xu has a rich history in both solar and semiconductor industries. He led the development to achieve the world highest conversion efficiency of silicon solar panel in 2015. He also built high volume factories both in the US and China for manufacturing high performance solar panels. Dr. Xu spearheaded various semiconductor equipment developments (e.g. PVD, ALD, CVD) and achieved multi-billion dollar revenues and profitability during his tenure as corporate vice president and general manager of Metal Deposition Business Unit at Applied Materials, Inc. He led the development of the copper metallization technology and equipment, which enabled rapid performance increases and cost reductions in semiconductor industry in early 2000. Dr. Xu also initiated new product development in Xi’an, China, and developed the first 300mm semiconductor equipment in that country. Dr. Xu earned a Ph.D. in materials science from the University of California at Santa Barbara. He also holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Osaka University in Japan. He received his B.S. in semiconductor Physics and devices from Zhejiang University in China. He holds 102 U.S. patents.
